Project Summary
N.C. State University, Raleigh, NC
Ever since Beta Tau's inception at NC State in 1895, Sigma Nu has always had a grand chapter house. In 1896, Brother Charles Pearson was quoted as saying "Brother Victor Boyden and myself are just making a deal for a beautiful little house fronting one of our best parks, which, if we can secure, will be Beta Tau's Chapter House, and a better could not be wished for. Let us hope that we will soon be settled in our new home and ready for better work for Sigma Nu." With the Greek Village at North Carolina State University undergoing a total redevelopment, the Beta Tau chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity has commenced design and fundraising activities. Gontram Architecture is assisting in this effort, and has developed a preliminary design scheme.
Sigma Nu Fraternity, the first original fraternity at North Carolina State University, hopes to become the first new fraternity house constructed in the newly redeveloped Greek Village. In addition, Sigma Nu hopes to become one of the first LEED-Certified fraternity houses in the nation.
