Dear Beta Tau Brothers:
Please mark your calendar for the 30th Anniversary Beta Tau Alumni Oyster Roast and golf tournament, coming April 24, 2010. This is the time we gather as a brotherhood to enjoy fun, food, golf and fellowship. All activities will be taking place at the NEW ARNOLD PALMER design Lonnie Poole Golf Course located on the N.C. State Centennial Campus. The golf course is a wonderful layout and a must play for golfers of all levels. Please make a special effort to contact your pledge brothers and encourage them to attend and share a great time with brothers whom they may not have seen in quite some time. We’ve had greater and greater attendance in the recent years and believe that this year could be the largest Oyster Roast yet, so get your registrations in as soon as you can.
Tee times for the golf tournament are at 8:15 a.m. Submit your handicap to Rick Tate and he can pair you up with a foursome, or make your own foursome and submit it to Rick. Remember, there are only 60 spaces in the golf tournament, and spaces will be filled as paid registrations are received, so register early. Contact Rick at rick.tate@dhhs.nc.gov or call (919) 801-7912 for more information. Oysters from the 42nd Street Oyster Bar will be served around 2:00 p.m. and a full buffet from the Mc Calls BBQ will be served around 4:00 p.m.
Also, don’t forget about the traditional Friday night gathering. This year’s gathering will take place on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Crabtree Tavern, (the old Tavola Rossa site) in Raleigh.
A special group will be joining us on Friday Night as well: the 10 seniors from the current Beta Tau Chapter who have done such a terrific job in spearheading the re-colonization and rebirth of our Chapter this past year. It is most impressive to see the amount of hard work and dedication this group has put forth to get the Chapter started on a solid foundation. These seniors deserve our thanks and Friday night will be a great time to let them know how much we appreciate their efforts. To show our appreciation to these seniors we have offered to sponsor them on Friday night by putting in an extra $25 per senior to pay for their dinner. If you would like to join us and sponsor a senior, please add an extra $25 to your check. The brothers will also be selling 2010 Oyster Roast tee shirts for $20. If you would like one of these, please indicate on your size on your registration.
